Bullhorn have made an important announcement recently concerning their REST API. This API is the version we use within our Bullhorn to WordPress Plugin that powers all of our awesome tools and services.
When customers need to retrieve many fields from an entity, a common practice is to use the * syntax which makes all fields available.
Bullhorn have found that this is causing additional load on their servers, which they want to eradicate. As a result, the ability to use * will be removed from 1st January 2021.
Our plugin and additional products use * in many places, especially when we pull all fields in certain entities. Instead, we now have to specify fields explicitly.
We have already begun preparing an update to our core Bullhorn to WordPress Plugin that powers many website integrations. This plugin creates your website job pages, powers applications and candidate and client portals. We expect this to be available for release in September, we will provide information on where to download and how to upgrade in due course.
In addition to the Bullhorn Plugin, we have many other services such as our Bullhorn Automated Email Triggers, Bullhorn Candidate Resume Creator, Data Cleaning Tool and many more that also require updates in preparation of the API change.
These updates are more customer specific as each customer is customised to use the tools exactly to their needs. We will contact these customers individually with a plan to update your instance within plenty of time before the end of the year. The API update is a big one, especially for a feature rich product such as ours but rest assured, we are already working on updating our plugin and will have more information available shortly via our blog and customer emails.
